The Baker and The Fondant Maker

About a year a half ago I volunteered my BFF and myself to make a wedding cake. You know, fondant from scratch, layered tiers, and enough cake to feed a couple hundred of people. No biggie! Except we had never done it before.

I'm sitting here right now laughing out loud as I think of the hilarity of the entire situation.

Being the amazing person she is, my BFF stuck right there beside me. And we named ourselves "The Baker and The Fondant Maker".  She bakes....I decorate.

The first cake tasted absolutely delicious; we did have to take out a layer or two because it started to lean- all in all it was a success.

We've learned a lot in the past year.  And I still give her that "you're my best friend....right????" look every time I get us into something.

Lately I've had to do a couple without her and it's just not the same.  Here are our cakes :)

Chevron Pillow

So excited to completed another project ! I've been wanting to make a pillow with the chevron pattern painted on it.  As you can see (and as my 15 year old sweetly pointed out) it's not perfect, but that's what makes handmade so special 😀.

Here are some of the pictures of the work in progress:

Summer Time Fun!

Summer school officially ended last week, and my month long crafting session can now begin!

I have tons of projects I have been wanting to do.  I'll post a few pictures of the ones I've done the past couple of days.  I will post a tutorial for the burlap cross soon.  It is my favorite project so far !!

I hope your summer is full of fun and crafting :)

Chocolate Raspberry Delight!!!

I made these cupcakes for a family friend who was turning 100 years old!  What an incredible blessing to have someone in your life that has seen our world go through so many amazing changes.

These cupcakes were absolutely delicious!!!  The cupcakes are a butter chocolate and the icing is a raspberry buttercream!  Lip smacking delicious!!!

The decorations are white chocolate and sprinkled with edible glitter :)
